At the weekend we dished out awards in 19 categories (and it didn’t take a week) at the Eurovision NI (knee?) Awards 2018. Read on to see our photo gallery with some of the highlights from the night! Can’t wait to do it all again next year.
Earlier this evening the third annual Eurovision NI Awards took place in Belfast’s American Bar. The acts from Eurovision 2018 battled it out in eighteen categories from Best Male, Best Female and Best Group to Best Song, Best New Song and Best Song From Selection Shows. It wasn’t all good, we also named and shamed the worst from this year’s participants from Worst Song, Worst Dressed Acts and even crowned the Most Cringeworthy Act.
Also returning for 2018 was the award decided by the readers of our blog: The People’s Choice Award. We received hundreds of votes from devoted fans, but only one act could be crowned the people’s champion in 2018.
Finally we honoured a person who has contributed greatly to Eurovision with the Phoenix: Outstanding Contribution to Eurovision Award. This year’s recipient was Conchita Wurst. She will join Linda Martin and the late Sir Terry Wogan in the Eurovision NI Hall of Fame.

As we prepare to embark on another year of selection shows, pop bangers, emotional ballads, televoting and internal selections, we pay tribute to the year of Eurovision gone by. The Eurovision NI Awards are back in 2018 for our third annual awards show!
They will take place in Belfast’s the American Bar on 6th October 2018 from 8pm. Awards will be handed out in the same 19 categories as last year. These will be decided by a panel of experts including the categories; Best Male, Best Female, Best Duo, Group or Collaboration, Best Live Vocal, Best Staging, Best Returning Artist, Best Moment, Best Video, Best Song Not In the English Language, Best New Song, Best Song From Selection Shows and Best Song.
As well as honouring the good, we also reflect on the bad with the categories Worst Song, Worst Lyrics, Worst Dressed Male, Worst Dressed Female and Most Cringeworthy Act. Also returning for 2018 is the award decided by the readers of our blog: The People’s Choice Award. Finally we will honour a person who has contributed greatly to Eurovision with the Phoenix: Outstanding Contribution to Eurovision Award which this year will go to Conchita Wurst.
