The fifth group of Eurovision NI’s Song of 2019 takes place this week. This week’s picks include tracks from Eurovision faves Mikolas Josef, Loic Nottet, Emma Marrone and Slavko as well as 2010 winner Lena and Dutch girl band O’G3NE. John Lundvik has been crowned the winner of Melodifestivalen 2019. He won the contest earlier this evening with his song ‘Too Late For Love’. He will represent Sweden at Eurovision 2019.
Everyone deserves a second chance, or as it goes in Melfest the acts that finished third and fourth in their semi finals get a second bite of the cherry in the fifth week of their Eurovision selection show. Eight artists returned to the stage in Nyköping on Saturday to face off for the four spots in next week’s final.
Sweden’s Melfest 2019 continued in Lidkoping this evening! Seven acts competed for the two spots in the final in March and the two spots in the second chance show next week.
Over the past four weeks, Sweden has treated us to 28 songs in their national final Melodifestivalen 2019. There have been some upsets with some of the fan favourites not qualifying for the final or the second chance shows and being eliminated from the contest. The last of Sweden’s Melodifestivalen semi final shows will take place this weekend in the Sparbanken Lidköping Arena in Lidköping. Seven more acts will compete for the two places in the final and the two places in the second chance show which will take place over the next fortnight. Today broadcaster SVT revealed one minute snippets of the seven songs that will take part on Saturday night.
It all kicks off in Gothenburg on Saturday night! One of the most anticipated selections of the Eurovision season: Sweden’s Melodifestivalen, will get under way in just two days’ time and today the Swedish broadcaster SVT gave us a sneak peak of what we can expect from the first semi final.
Melfest is one of the most anticipated Eurovision selections of the season. The presenting line up was announced last month (Eric Saade, Sarah Dawn Finer, Kodjo Akolor and Marika Carlsson) and rumours have been rife as to which acts would compete in this year’s contest.
