We are in the midst of Eurovision Selection Season, then there’s Eurovision itself in May, but Eurovision fans are usually stuck for Eurovision entertainment from June through to December! In 2016 we tried to fill that gap with the launch of the Eurovision NI Awards. In 2019 we want to expand our offering to a bigger venue that can accommodate a bigger audience and we want to put on a Eurovision Extravaganza. In order to do that we need your help and would love it if you could donate to our Kickstarter campaign.
At the weekend we dished out awards in 19 categories (and it didn’t take a week) at the Eurovision NI (knee?) Awards 2018. Read on to see our photo gallery with some of the highlights from the night! Can’t wait to do it all again next year.
Tonight saw ten acts compete to be named the Eurovision representative for Norway at the contest in 2018. Among the competitors in the final of the Melodi Grand Prix included two former Norwegian representative Aleksander Walmann and (2009 Eurovision winner) Alexander Rybak, as well as the ‘You Look So Much Better When You’re Naked’ singer Ida Maria.
Tomorrow night will see Norway select their Eurovision act and song for 2018, when the final of Melodi Grand Prix 2018 takes place. Ahead of the big announcement we had asked you to vote for your favourite acts in our poll. This has now closed and we can reveal the results.
Earlier this week the Norwegian broadcaster revealed the ten songs in the running for their Eurovision 2018 selection show Melodi Grand Prix in March. Today saw the Norweigan national broadcaster reveal the ten artists that will compete in this year’s Melodi Grand Prix, the show that will select their Eurovision artist and song for 2018. Among the line up are the 2017 Norwegian representative Aleksander Walmann who gave Norway a top ten finish for ‘That Feeling’, The Eurovision 2009 winner Alexander Rybak and Ida Maria who is probably best known for her international hit song ‘I Like You So Much Better When You’re Naked’.
