With the thrill ride that was Eurovision 2018 now over us, we look towards new music from our past contestants. Hot off the heels of their appearance this year, we get new tracks from UK artist SuRie, Italy’s Ermal Meta and Armenian representative Sevak Khanagyan. Late last week Laura Groeseneken was selected as Belgium’s 2018 Eurovision participant. The singer revealed in an interview that part of the reason she was interested in competing was due to the beauty of this year’s winning song ‘Amar Pelos Dois’ by Portuguese singer Salvador Sobral. In homage to the song she has done her own version in English. Check it out:
Portugal return to Eurovision following a years’ absence. They have chosen 27 year old heartthrob Salvador Sobral for 2017 who will sing ‘Amar pelos dois’ a song written by his sister Luisa. The song is very different from anything else in the Contest this year mixing the genres of Pop and Jazz, and has quickly become a favourite with bookies, fans and critics.
We are now in the penultimate week of the Eurovision World Cup 2017! Four countries remain in the running (United Kingdom, Sweden, Cyprus and Israel) and they will now face off against each other head to head in this the Semi Final Round.
