The MTV European Music Awards are one of the highlights in the awards season calendar. This year’s show will take place in London’s SSE Wembley Arena on 12 November and will be hosted by Rita Ora. Among the nominees are some of our favourite Eurovision stars.
June has been so jam-packed with musical goodness that we have had to split our music round up across two parts. This first part includes new songs from Croatia’s Nina Kraljic, new music from Samra, Aminata, Barei, Ani Lorak and Manel Navarro, as well as three new songs from Armenia’s Iveta Mukuchyan including a duet with fellow Depi Evratesil judge Aram MP3, some rock hits from Cyrpus’ Minus One and Romania’s Voltaj and a new solo song from FreakyFortune’s Nikolas Raptakis. Earlier this evening the inaugural Eurovision NI Awards took place. With 16 awards up for grabs it was The Netherlands’ Douwe Bob who led the way with six nominations. On the night though he walked away with no awards. But who did? Read on to find out!

Croatia’s Nina Kraljic is probably best remembered for her incredibly bad dress sense at Eurovision 2016. However, the ‘Lighthouse’ singer has not been deterred by criticisms of her fashion sense and has returned with her debut album entitled ‘Samo’ (‘Only’ in English).
This year we have decided to hold the inaugural Eurovision NI Awards. We will celebrate the good, the bad and the ugly at Eurovision 2016 over 16 categories, as well as presenting the Phoenix Award for Outstanding Contributing to Eurovision. We have chosen the nominees for each category (which are listed below) and we are now asking you to vote for your favourites in each category, with the results being announced in four weeks time on Saturday 22 October.
