Norwegian band KEiiNO have proven themselves as a real hit making factory. The trio have expanded on the success of their fifth place at Eurovision 2019 for song ‘Spirit in the Sky’. In the six months following their Eurovision appearance, the band have had success with cover versions of ‘Shallow’ (Lady Gaga and Bradley Cooper) and ‘Vill Ha Dig’ (Freestyle) and original track ‘Praying’. This weekend they have revealed another new track.
Hatari stoked controversy when the erupted, clad in leather bdsm gear during their performance of ‘Hatrid mun sigra’ at Eurovision 2019 and then again when they flew the Palestinian flag during the vote reveal in Israel. A follow up single ‘Klefi/Samed’ in the immediate aftermath of the competition saw them team up with gay Palestinian singer Bashar Marad.
Now for part two of our New Music Round Up for July. In it we take a look at new releases from Russian girl band Serebro, Belgian songstress Blanche and two acts from this year’s Contest Sweden’s Benjamin Ingrosso and Swiss siblings Zibbz.
July ushers in a summer full of new hits from your Eurovision faves. This month we take a look at new tracks from Latvia’s Aminata, everyone’s favourite saxy group Sunstroke Project, Polish butter churner/singer CLEO and Eurovision 2018 alums Lea Sirk (Slovenia), AWS (Hungary) and Sevak Khanagyan (Armenia).
As we move into June we are treated to even more hits from former Eurovision stars. As June saw the opening of the FIFA World Cup we have been inundated with World Cup songs from the likes of Buranovskiye Babushki (aka the Russian Grannies), Armenian singer Iveta Mukuchyan and Malta’s Ira Losco teaming up with Jason Derulo. As well as that we have non-sporting new music from Belorussian 2018 representative Alekseev, Dutch girl band OG3NE and Eurovision 1988 winner and all round legend Celine Dion. Read on to find out what we made of each song!
With the thrill ride that was Eurovision 2018 now over us, we look towards new music from our past contestants. Hot off the heels of their appearance this year, we get new tracks from UK artist SuRie, Italy’s Ermal Meta and Armenian representative Sevak Khanagyan. Also joining the May line up of new music is 2017 Eurovision champ Salvador Sobral, Austria’s Nathan Trent who teams up with J-MOX, Belgian artist Blanche, Sweden’s Robin Bengtsson and a duet from Melfest winner and runner up (and best mates) Benjamin Ingrosso and Felix Sandman.
Next month will see the 2018 edition of Eurovision take place in the Portuguese capital of Lisbon. Ahead of that we look to some of our favourites from past contests to see what they’ve been up to and what new music releases they’ve treated us to this month. Among them are Spanish singers Barei and Manel Navarro as well as new offerings from Tim Schou, Francesco Gabbani, Ira Losco and Fabrizio Faniello. Enjoy!
