New Music Round Up: June 2017 (Part One)!

June has been so jam-packed with musical goodness that we have had to split our music round up across two parts. This first part includes new songs from Croatia’s Nina Kraljic, new music from Samra, Aminata, Barei, Ani Lorak and Manel Navarro, as well as three new songs from Armenia’s Iveta Mukuchyan including a duet with fellow Depi Evratesil judge Aram MP3, some rock hits from Cyrpus’ Minus One and Romania’s Voltaj and a new solo song from FreakyFortune’s Nikolas Raptakis. Review: United Kingdom- Electro Velvet ‘Still in Love With You’

electroGod knows we all love something new and innovative at Eurovision. You only have to look back on the last ten years and you can see the great variety from the bearded lady Conchita Wurst, to the elderly Russian Grannies in 2012, scary mask wearing rockers Lordi and Ireland’s Dustin the Turkey puppet. For some of these acts the risk has paid off and saw them walking away with the Eurovision crown, others however failed to qualify. Continue reading

15 Things We Learned This Week

This week was another action packed week with many of the countries taking part in this year’s Eurovision Song Contest finalising their acts and songs for Vienna in May. Majority of the songs have now been revealed, but let’s take a look back on the things we learned this week.

1. Australia will make their debut at the 60th Eurovision Song Contest, but it was revealed this week that their first ever representative would be former Australian Idol and R n B singer Guy Sebastian. In a press conference this week he stated that the song choice would be revealed in due course, but it could be a song that featured on his latest album, as it was written within the Eurovision deadline.

2. Controversy was rife when the German selection process crowned Andreas Kummert as the winner of the live final this week, only for the singer to turn down the chance to represent his country at Eurovision with song ‘Heart of Stone’
