As we move into June we are treated to even more hits from former Eurovision stars. As June saw the opening of the FIFA World Cup we have been inundated with World Cup songs from the likes of Buranovskiye Babushki (aka the Russian Grannies), Armenian singer Iveta Mukuchyan and Malta’s Ira Losco teaming up with Jason Derulo. As well as that we have non-sporting new music from Belorussian 2018 representative Alekseev, Dutch girl band OG3NE and Eurovision 1988 winner and all round legend Celine Dion. June has been so jam-packed with musical goodness that we have had to split our music round up across two parts. A few weeks ago we reported that Armenia are going all out to find their Eurovision entry for 2017 with an all star judging panel including previous Eurovision singers Iveta Mukuchyan and AramMP3. This contest entitled Depi Evratesil (Towards Eurovision) was launched at the weekend and marked the first of this year’s Eurovision national selection shows to get under way.
Fans of Armenian singer Iveta Mukuchyan will be very happy today as the singer has not only released a new track but has also unveiled the accompanying video. Armenian broadcaster AMPTV announced today its plans for their Eurovision selection procedure for 2017. Instead of internal selection, which has been the case for their past four attempts, a national contest titled ‘Depi Evratesil’ will determine which singer will perform for the nation in Ukraine in 2017.Continue reading
