New Music Round Up: June 2018 (Part One)!

As we move into June we are treated to even more hits from former Eurovision stars. As June saw the opening of the FIFA World Cup we have been inundated with World Cup songs from the likes of Buranovskiye Babushki (aka the Russian Grannies), Armenian singer Iveta Mukuchyan and Malta’s Ira Losco teaming up with Jason Derulo. As well as that we have non-sporting new music from Belorussian 2018 representative Alekseev, Dutch girl band OG3NE and Eurovision 1988 winner and all round legend Celine Dion. For the past eight weeks you have been participating in selecting our favourite songs from former Eurovision contestants released in 2017. On Sunday we revealed the final 40 songs still in contention for the title and today we paused the poll, verified the results and can now reveal the songs that have finished 30 to 21. Lithuania Announce the Return of Selection Show Eurovizijos for 2018!

Although 2017 wasn’t the best year at Eurovision for Lithuania, national broadcaster LRT have announced there will be no change in the format used to select their Eurovision artist and song for Eurovision 2018. The mammoth (if not somewhat outdrawn) selection show Eurovizijos will return in the new year.

It’s a new year and that means not only are we awaiting the revelation of all this year’s Eurovision contenders, but Eurovision artists from years gone by have also been busy in the studio recording new music. Here’s some of the hits released in January! Included in the list is two time Iceland representative Greta Salome, two time Hungarian singer Donny Montell, Monika Linkyte from Lithuania and British duo Joe and Jake and a solo single from Alex Larke from Electro Velvet!
