As we move into June we are treated to even more hits from former Eurovision stars. As June saw the opening of the FIFA World Cup we have been inundated with World Cup songs from the likes of Buranovskiye Babushki (aka the Russian Grannies), Armenian singer Iveta Mukuchyan and Malta’s Ira Losco teaming up with Jason Derulo. As well as that we have non-sporting new music from Belorussian 2018 representative Alekseev, Dutch girl band OG3NE and Eurovision 1988 winner and all round legend Celine Dion. Read on to find out what we made of each song!
Collaborations come in many forms and Eurovision 2017 saw possibly the most diverse selection in recent years. This year saw a yodeller team up with a rapper, a man duet with himself, the return of a band with an epic saxophonist, a wonderfully harmonised group made up of three sisters and a duo singing in the Belorussian language for the first time in Eurovision history. Check out which of the acts have been nominated in the category of Best Group, Duo or Collaboration at the Eurovision NI Awards 2017.
O’G3NE are a trio of siblings who will represent the Netherlands at Eurovision 2017 with song ‘Lights and Shadows’. They rose to fame representing their country at Junior Eurovision and being the first group ever to win any of the international versions of the Voice when they were crowned winners of the Voice of Holland.
Two songs will advance from Group G to the knock out stage of our Eurovision World Cup Contest. Group G consists of Sweden, Georgia, The Netherlands, Macedonia and Malta. Listen to each of the songs in this group and vote for your favourite two in the poll below. Poll closes 6th April when the results will be unveiled.
