Russia are coming late to the Eurovision party this year. They are the penultimate country to announce their Eurovision act for 2017 when this evening they choose X-Factor contestant Yulia Samoilova for Kiev. The singer will perform ‘Flame is Burning’, check out her video below.

15 Things We Learned This Week (12th Mar 2017)

Well well well, hasn’t the world of Eurovision been a busy one this week. Not only did we have the conclusion of national final season with the staging of the remaining selection shows, but the previously announced artists came out in force unveiling music videos for their Eurovision songs or debuting them for the first time. Valentina Monetta is back For San Marino with Jimmie Wilson!

Three time Sammarinese Eurovision representative Valentina Monetta is back for a fourth attempt in 2017. She represented the micro state in 2012, 2013 and most recently in 2014 when her song ‘Maybe’ saw San Marino qualify for the final for the first time ever.

Welsh songstress Lucie Jones was chosen to represent the UK at Eurovision 2017 when she won the BBC’s selection show ‘You Decide’ back in January.

The 2016 Icelandic representative Greta Salome returned to the Songvakeppnin stage last night to perform her new single ‘Blues’.

Jowst was picked as the Norwegian Eurovision 2017 entry last night when he won the nation’s national selection show Melodi Grand Prix. 

Robin Bengtsson Wins Melfest 2017!

‘I Can’t Go On’ by Robin Bengtsson has been voted the winner of Melodifestivalen 2017 in the competitions final round in Stockholm last night. 

Fusedmarc Wins Lithuania’s Eurovizijos!

Fusedmarc have won the Lithuanian national selection show Eurovizijos and will represent the nation at the 2017 Eurovision Song Contest with their song ‘Rain of Revolution’. 

Svala Wins Iceland’s Songvakeppnin 2017!

Earlier this evening Iceland crowned Svala as the winner of Songvakeppnin 2017. She will go on to perform ‘Paper’ the English version of her song ‘Ég veit það’ in Kiev.
