The Finnish Eurovision selection UMK will return to a multi artist format for 2020. The final will take place on 7 March and will be hosted by Mikko Silvennoinen and Eurovision 2013 singer Krista Siegfrids. The show will feature six artists and today the broadcaster YLE revealed these artists and song titles.

The six competing acts in UMK 2020 are:

  • Aksel Kankaanranta- ‘Looking Back’
  • Catharina Zühlke- ‘Eternity’
  • Erika Vikman- ‘Cicciolina’
  • F3M- ‘Bananas’
  • Sansa- ‘Lover View’
  • Tika- ‘I Let My Heart Break’

The format returns to multiple artists competing to represent the nation, following a two year change in proceedings which saw one artist (Saara Aalto in 2018/Darude in 2019) perform three of their songs for Finland to choose from. Poor results at Eurovision may be the reason that they have switched back to the older format- Darude finished last in his semi final last year and Saara Aalto finished 25th out of 26 performers in 2018.

YLE will release one track every week day between 24 and 31 January. The winner will be decided by televote and an expert jury.
