Melfest is the Swedish selection show for Eurovision. It has a special place in every Eurofan’s heart. The schlager hit factory has been responsible for launching the careers of superstars like ABBA, Carola, Loreen, Mans Zelmerlow and Sanna Nielsen. A mainstay of the Eurovision calendar, the TV singing competition is set to be immortalised with a new Hall of Fame which will be launched by broadcaster SVT next month.
Mahmood finished runner up at the 2019 edition of Eurovision with his song ‘Soldi’. The Italian has gone from strength to strength since, releasing a number of hit singles including the tracks ‘Barrio’ and collaboration ‘Calipso’ and he has toured throughout Europe. Since his Eurovision appearance, he has been working on an as of yet untitled second album, the follow up to his highly successful debut ‘Gioventù bruciata’. Today he has released the lead single from the album ‘Rapide’.
Benjamin Ingrosso won Sweden’s Melodifestivalen in 2018 with the song ‘Dance You Off’. Since representing his nation at Eurovision, finishing seventh, he has released his debut album ‘Identification’ and returned to Melfest in 2019 as a guest where he covered Lionel Richie’s ‘All Night Long’. His first release of 2020 came this morning in the form of his new track ‘The Dirt’. Check it out!
