X-Factor Malta continued with the second of its live shows this weekend. The ten remaining finalists took part in the second live show dedicated to ‘Guilty Pleasures’ and two more acts were eliminated at the end of the weekend.
Szansa na Sukces is a popular Polish TV show that originally ran from 1992 to 2012. The show returned to Polish screens in 2019 and served as a means for Poland to choose their Junior Eurovision act. The show proved hugely popular and the winner Viki Gabor went on to win Junior Eurovision 2019. You can understand why then that Polish broadcaster TVP has decided to use the format for the main Eurovision selection in 2020.
Lithuania’s Eurovision selection Pabandom iš naujo! will continue this weekend with the third heat show. 12 more acts will compete with the hopes that their songs will be one of the six making it through to the semi final round.
Vidbir will return as the Ukrainian Eurovision selection in 2020. Today the national broadcaster UA:PBC revealed the sixteen acts that will compete in this year’s contest.
The third of Norway’s Melodi Grand Prix shows will take place on Saturday night. Four acts will compete for the chance to sing again in the Grand Final on 15 February. Today the Norwegian broadcaster NRK revealed the four songs for this week’s heat. Have a listen!
Following the success of their online selection process in 2019, ESCZ returns in 2020 with seven artists vying to be the the Czech Republic’s pick for Eurovision in Rotterdam. The format of the process will largely remain the same and some of last year’s participants even return for a second bite of the ESC cherry.
