The Moldovan national selection came to an close with the final of O Melodie Pentru Europa tonight. The winner of the contest was Lidia Isac who won with her song ‘Falling Stars’.
She performed against fifteen other competitors who had advanced from the two semi finals which were held earlier in the week on Tuesday and Thursday. The decision was made based on a combined 50/50 jury and public vote. While Isac only came third in the jury vote, she topped the televote and the combined results meant that she finished just ahead of second place Cristina Pintilie with ‘Picture of Love’.
Lidia also topped our readers’ poll earlier this evening with over 50% of the overall vote, a huge feat considering there were 15 other songs to choose from.
