Bookies have made Cyprus’s Eleni Foureira the favourite to win this year’s Eurovision Final on Saturday 12 May. The odds for her song ‘Fuego’ were dramatically slashed following her flame filled pop romp at the semi final on Tuesday. Having been a rank outsider at 100/1 before rehearsals began she now is the outright favourite at 11/8.
Next in line to win with the bookies is Israel. Their representative Netta had won over fans with her quirky dress sense and lyrics and had been the previous favourite but has since slipped in the odds to her current standings at 4/1. Former winner Alexander Rybak who had been one of the favourite earlier in the week has also slipped to 25/1 while the odds for some slower songs like Lithuania and Ireland have seen their odds shorten dramatically. In the case of Ireland they had been at 300/1 but now stand at 9th favourites at 40/1.
