Next month will see the 2018 edition of Eurovision take place in the Portuguese capital of Lisbon. Ahead of that we look to some of our favourites from past contests to see what they’ve been up to and what new music releases they’ve treated us to this month. Maltese broadcaster PBS have revealed their plans for selecting their artist and song for Eurovision 2017. The broadcaster had received 156 submissions and today they revealed that they had narrowed these down to the 60 contenders.

The University of Malta’s Centre for the Liberal Arts and Science are offering students the chance to study the Eurovision Song Contest. From October 2016 students will be able to study the unit entitled ‘Interpreting Music Culture: Multimodality, MTV and the Eurovision’ which will focus on critical analysis of the Eurovision Song Contest.
Malta chose Ira Losco as their 2016 Eurovision entry quite early on in the selection season. However, they had a last minute song change when they decided to drop ‘Chameleon (Invincible)’ which won the MESC competition, and replace it with ‘Walk On Water’.
