In the wake of the Eurovision 2019 results, it seems that that there have been a number of issues with how the jury votes had been delivered. Most notably, and the only one that the EBU has accepted to date, is the results of the Belorussian jury. Other marked mistakes however have been made. This is particularly the case in regards to the Semi Final jury votes and some of the national jurors having voted back to front.
Have you ever wondered how the Eurovision voting system works? The EBU have released a new video to clarify the voting procedures for fans. In it, it explains how the public televote accounts for 50% of the overall vote for each country. This is merged together with the other 50% made up of votes from the national juries comprised of 5 musical professionals and often former Eurovision contestants. The jury’s votes are overseen by a notary.
