Albania’s selection show Festivali i Kenges concluded tonight to give us the first Eurovision song for 2019. That honour goes to Jonida Maliqi who won the three day long competition with song ‘Ktheju tokes’. She will join the other artists announced for Eurovision 2019: Tamta (Cyprus) and Srbuk (Armenia).
Albania’s selection show Festivali i Kenges began a few nights ago and we now have the line up for the final which will take place later this evening. 14 acts have made it through to the final, and there were a few upsets as one of the fan favourites Mirud did not advance to the Final.

Albania’s selection show Festivali i Kenges is usually the first event in the Eurovision calendar and this year is no different. Earlier this week the Albanian broadcaster RTSH revealed details of the 57th edition of the contest which has chosen the country’s Eurovision artist and song since 2003.
