Anyone who knows me knows I love a boy band – this one however is not one that I am particularly emphatic about. There were many other better boy bands that weren’t picked to represent their country at Eurovision this year. Anti Social Media Chosen to Represent Denmark

anti social mediaFollowing a ten act battle in the Dansk Melodi Grand Prix, Anti Social Media and their song ‘The Way You Are’ have been chosen as the Danish representative for Eurovision 2015.

The four piece beat off strong competition from duo Tina and Rene, girl band World of Girls, jazz outfit Marcel and Soulman Group, Sara Sukurani, folk pop singer Cecilie Alexandra as well as Babou, Andy Roda, Julie Bjerre and Anne Gadegaard.

The contest was held at the Gigantium in Aalborg and hosted by Esben Bjerre Hansen and Jacob Riising. Last year’s winner Basim also made a guest appearance.

Eurovision 2016 Guide: Denmark

Denmark Eurovision 2016

Denmark have won Eurovision on three occasions: first in 1963 with ‘Dansevise’ by Grethe and Jørgen Ingmann, then again in 2000 and 2013 with the Olsen Brothers’ ‘Fly On the Wings of Love’ and Emmelie de Forest’s ‘Only Teardrops’, respectively. As well as their three wins, Denmark have also had a further 11 top five finishes at Eurovision. However their most recent attempt in 2015 they failed to qualify for the final, as Anti-Social Media’s ‘The Way You Are’ only finished in 13th place in semi final 2.
