A few weeks ago we reported that Armenia are going all out to find their Eurovision entry for 2017 with an all star judging panel including previous Eurovision singers Iveta Mukuchyan and AramMP3. This contest entitled Depi Evratesil (Towards Eurovision) was launched at the weekend and marked the first of this year’s Eurovision national selection shows to get under way.
Over the past week and a half we have been gradually unveiling our top 100 songs from the last ten years of Eurovision (2007-2016). Now that all has been revealed, here is the full countdown from number 100 to number one!
This week I will begin my countdown of my Top 100 Eurovision Songs from the past ten years. Today I will bring you the songs that placed numbers 91-100. Read on to find out if your favourites made the cut and stay tuned for the rest of the Top 100 throughout the week.
Iveta Mukuchuyan debuted her 2016 Eurovision song ‘LoveWave’ earlier today. Check out the video for the song below.
Armenia have a strong track record at Eurovision. Since first competing in 2006, they have managed to qualify for the final every year except in 2011. They have six top ten finishes and their best result is fourth in 2008 with ‘Qele Qele’ by Sirusho and again in 2014 when Aram MP3 lost out to Conchita with ‘Not Alone’, despite being an early favourite. Last year saw Armenia form a supergroup from Armenian Diaspora all over the world called Genealogy. ‘Face the Shadow’ however only managed to score 34 points and finished in 16th place.
