Ireland’s 2013 Eurovision representative Ryan Dolan has recorded and shot a video of his version of Rihanna’s hit ‘Diamonds’.
Ireland’s Eurovision fortunes have really taken a turn for the worse ever since their hey days of the late 80s/early 90s when they won a record breaking seven times. While still unbeaten to this day, Ireland haven’t even come close in recent years. They failed to qualify in 2014 with Cann Linn and Kasey Smith. They came in 26th place of 26 in the Final in 2013 with Ryan Dolan. It took Jedward’s ‘Lipstick’ in 2011 to see Ireland with any decent chance of doing well. This week RTE released a statement saying that Ireland will chose their entry for Eurovision 2015 on Friday 27th February and since then the rumour mill has been working over time. It is expected that the five acts in the running for Eurosong 2015 will get their first play on Ray Darcy’s TodayFM show later this week but until then we take a look at some of the rumoured acts that could be in the running.
Ryan Dolan, who last year represented Ireland in the Eurovision Song Contest, has released a new song that has gained a lot of world wide attention. The song ‘Start Again’ deals with issues of confused sexuality, bullying depression and even suicide.
