This weekend X-Factor Malta progressed to the Boot Camp phase of the competition and with over 70 artists making it through the first round of auditions the judging panel (made up of Ira Losco, Howard Keith Debono, Ray Mercieca, and Alexandra Alden) would have their work cut out for them.
Earlier this evening sixteen acts battled it out to be Malta’s pick for Eurovision 2018. The results are in and the winning song was ‘Taboo’. The song will be performed by Christabelle in Lisbon in May.

Last month the Maltese broadcaster revealed a list of 30 artists and songs that they had selected for the next round of their national selection for Eurovision 2018. Maltese broadcaster PBS have revealed their plans for selecting their artist and song for Eurovision 2017. The broadcaster had received 156 submissions and today they revealed that they had narrowed these down to the 60 contenders.
Ira Losco will represent Malta at Eurovision for a second time in 2016 with ‘Chameleon (Invincible)’. The singer was chosen as the nation’s representative following the final of MESC tonight which saw 14 acts in contention for the Maltese selection.
Last night Malta staged the first of their live shows in order to get one step closer to crowning the act and song that will represent them in the 2016 Eurovision Song Contest. Twenty songs were in contention and each performer took to the MESC stage in the hope of getting chosen.
