Latvia have competed 16 times at Eurovision since their 2000 debut. It was two years later in 2002 that Latvia won the Contest for the first time with Marie N’s ‘I Wanna’. Since the introduction of the semi-finals in 2004, Latvia qualified for the final between 2005 and 2008, however from 2009 and 2014, Latvia failed to qualify to the final for six consecutive years. This bad streak was shirked in 2015 by Aminata’s ‘Love Injected’ which finished in sixth place.
