Loreen, winner of the 2012 Eurovision Eurovision Song Contest for Sweden, has today unveiled new music. The new single is entitled ‘Get Into It’ and is collaborative effort with Paris born DJ Boston Bun. Boston Bun is best know for managing helmeted dance duo Daft Punk and has also set up his own record label Ed Banger Records back in 2003.
We are just hours away from crowning the winner of our favourite Eurovision song ever. After weeks of voting it has come down to just five songs- Rise Like a Phoenix, Euphoria, Waterloo, Fairytale and Calm After the Storm. But which of the five will be victorious? The results are in from the last of the Melodifestivalen live shows before the final. The Swedish selection process saw eight songs given a second chance with four one on one battles which sent four acts through to the final and sent four acts home.
1. Vienna officially became the host city for Eurovision 2015 this week when the Host City Insignia Exchange took place on Monday 26th at Vienna’s City Hall.
2. Shortly after this ceremony, the semi final draw took place and we now know which countries will compete in which semi finals. For more info read our story here.
3. The host venue Weiner Stadthalle has released official plans for the stage for the Eurovision 2015. It will consist of 1288 individual pillars and measures 44 metres in width, 14.3 metres in height and up to 22 metres in depth. The LED pillars can produce a wide variety of lighting effects as can the 11 metre diameter
2. Loreen rose to fame on Sweden’s version of Pop Idol in 2004 performing songs such as Pink’s ‘Like a Pill’ and Britney Spears’ ‘Stronger’. She was eliminated in Week 8 of the live shows finishing in fourth overall. The eventual winner of the competition was Daniel Lindstrom.
