With selection shows in full swing, we take a break from this year’s Contest and look at the new releases from some of our favourite singers from the past few years. There’s nothing worse when an act tries to be cool at Eurovision and falls flat on their face. Cringeworthy moments usually arise when there is naff staging, they choose a dated artist, when the cheese has been laid on a bit too thick, or the act/song/vocal/staging or all of the above is just downright bad. You watch these performers with your head in your hands and just want the world to swallow them up whole. Last year the gong was awarded to Frans. Here are the contenders for Most Cringeworthy Act at the Eurovision NI Awards 2017.

This year was no different with several of our faves making a reappearance. Here are the nominees for the category Best Returning Act at the Eurovision NI Awards 2017. The winner will be revealed at the Awards ceremony in October, but in the meantime vote for your favourite in our poll.
Omar Naber has made a return to the Eurovision stage in 2017. Twelve years after his first attempt for Slovenia, Naber will sing ‘On My Way’ in Kiev. In 2005 he failed to make it through to the Final with song ‘Stop’, can he improve on this in 2017? I’m not convinced.
For the past four days you have been voting in the poll for Group B of the Eurovision NI World Cup 2017! We have closed the poll and can now reveal the results and announce which two countries have made it through to the next round of the competition.
