A distorted drum beat opens Switzerland’s entry for the 2015 Eurovision Song Contest for Melanie Renee’s ‘Time to Shine’. The song goes from strength to strength as the chorus kicks in and the Renee’s strong vocals belt out powerful lyrics ‘I’m living my dreams/Never been so alive/The sky’s the limit/Now I know I can fly.’

2. This week Eurovision fans were saddened to hear of the death of former winner Jorgen Ingmann. The 89 year old singer won the contest back in 1963 with his song “Dansevise” (Dance Ballad) for Denmark.
Sia’s song ‘Chandelier’ has proven quite popular amongst our Eurovision contenders this year. Belgium’s Loic Nottet and Switzerland’s Melanie Renee both covered the songs. Nottet’s version of the song sees the Belgian recreate the Sia video with his own creepy yet hilarious twist. The ‘Rhythm Inside’ singer literally swings from a chandelier, dances with a man with a blackened face and in drag and carries out a perfectly choreographed dance routine.
The filming of this year’s postcards began this week. Postcards are the short vignette videos that are played before the singers take to the stage at the Eurovision finals. We were given a sneak peak at Italy, Spain, Macedonia, Latvia and Switzerland’s postcards. Check them out below.
After months of searching for a representative, Cyprus has crowned Giannis Karagiannis as the winner of the Eurovision Song Project and his song ‘One Thing I Should Have Done’ will be their choice for Eurovision 2015.
Karagiannis achieved the highest combined score from a jury panel of expert and public televotes and finished ahead of five other acts
Switzerland have made their choice for Eurovision 2015, and it will be Melanie Renee going to Vienna with ‘Time to Shine’. Melanie Renee won after a live final in which the decision was made up of 50% of a public televote and 50% of a jury made up of experts including Switzerland’s representative from 2104, Sebalter.
