The fourth series of Celebrity Coach Trip kicked off at the start of the week on Channel 4’s sister station E4. Tour guide extraordinaire Brendan is back on the bus and this year is joined by some famous faces, including none other than our fave Eurovision twins Jedward!
Everybody’s favourite Irish twin singing duo Jedward have unveiled the music video for their new song ‘Hologram’. The song is true to form with a poppy/dance feel, catchy lyrics and the music video is just as fun with the boys dying their hair blue and larking about like they usually do, this time in snow! If you like their two Eurovision attempts ‘Lipstick’ and ‘Waterline’, then you’ll love ‘Hologram’. Check it out below.
Could Irish Eurovision twins John and Edward Grimes be about to duet on new material with Noughties ballad legend Dido? It would appear so from a recent tweet that the ‘Lipstick’ singers shared on their social media account on Wednesday 28th September.
Over the past week and a half we have been gradually unveiling our top 100 songs from the last ten years of Eurovision (2007-2016). Now that all has been revealed, here is the full countdown from number 100 to number one!
It’s getting to that time of year when thousands of students up and down the country will be starting their university courses for the first time. To kick things off in style, Queen’s University Belfast Students’ Union will throw a jepic party in Mandela Hall to welcome all their first year students at their Freshers’ Ball on 29th September.
2. The twins are no stranger to reality TV shows having made their debut on the 2009 series of the X-Factor, mentored by Louis Walsh and finishing in sixth place. The duo have also participated in Celebrity Big Brother 8 where they placed third behind Atomic Kitten singer Kerry Katona and My Big Fat Gypsy Wedding star Paddy Doherty.
3. The pair moved to an international stage when they were selected to represent Ireland at the Eurovision Song Contest for the first time in 2011 with their song ‘Lipstick’ and finished in eighth place. They were so successful that they were chosen again the following year for their song ‘Waterline’ which proved less of a hit finishing in 19th place overall.
This week RTE released a statement saying that Ireland will chose their entry for Eurovision 2015 on Friday 27th February and since then the rumour mill has been working over time. It is expected that the five acts in the running for Eurosong 2015 will get their first play on Ray Darcy’s TodayFM show later this week but until then we take a look at some of the rumoured acts that could be in the running.
As the second round of semi-finalist’s prepare for tonight’s live show we take a look back on Jedward’s 2011 hit ‘Lipstick’ which was welcomed as a great success and allowed the Irish twins to come back the following year to represent their country for a second time with ‘Waterline’.
