This year marked an historic decision from the EBU to allow Australia compete in Eurovision Song Contest in a one off to commemorate 60 years of the competition and to reward the continued support from Australia’s dedicated fan base. Rumours quickly circulated as to which act would be chosen to represent Australia and names being touted included Kylie Minogue, Dannii Minogue, Holly Valance, drag queen Courtney Act, Savage Garden frontman Darren Hayes and 2014 semi final interval act Jessica Mauboy. In the end it was announced that the first ever winner of Australian Idol, Guy Sebastian would be Australia’s pick and ‘Tonight Again’ would be the song of choice. The Norwegian entry for 2015 sees the Voice of Norway 2013 contestant Debrah Scarlett join forces with Morland, former front man of indie band Absent Elk. The pair literally serve us up a real slice of Gothic Pop with a dark banquet in their video which accompanies the song.Continue reading
