Charlie McGettigan to Play Belfast Nashville Songwriters’ Festival

1994 Eurovision winner Charlie McGettigan will play an ‘In the Round’ concert as part of the 2016 Belfast Nashville Songwriters’ Festival. The festival will take place at various venues in Belfast from 2nd-6th March and other acts include former D-Side Singer turned country singer Derek Ryan, Stephen Bishop, Iain Archer, Liam O’Maonlai and John Spillane. Giannis Karagiannis unveils video for ‘Diggiloo, Diggiley’

Cypriot contestant for the 2015 Eurovision Song Contest, Giannis Karagiannis has unveiled the official video for his cover of the Herrey’s 1984 winning song ‘Diggiloo, Diggiley’. The song has been adapted by Karagiannis to take on more of a jazz influence and the video sees him perform in a 1920s style speakeasy club to an intimate crowd accompanied by a Big Band. Review: France- Lisa Angell ‘N’Oubliez Pas’

franceThe French contestant for Eurovision 2015 is Lisa Angell. The singer developed a love of music from a very young age having participated from the age of 11 to 14 in several radio talent shows for the Nice Carnival and was declared the winner in four consecutive years. Later in life Angell has been a regular headline act at piano bars in Paris and more recently she has released three albums including an album of cover songs from female singers of the 1930s, 1940s and 1950s. Melodifestivalen 2015 has been highly entertaining so far. From life dolls jpop girl band Dolly Style to the triumphant return of Eric Saade and crazy performance from last week’s winner Jon Henrik Fjallgren, it never disappoints. This week was no different as host Sanna Nielsen took to the stage to give us another wonderfully bizarre performance this week it was En Vogue’s ‘Free Your Mind’ accompanied by Complete Dance Crew, a comedy dance act whose routine was reminiscent of a scene featuring Quicksilver from X-Men’s Days of Future Past.
