Eurovision France 2016

France have been present at Eurovision from the very beginning and have only missed the contest on two occasions (1974 and 1982). They have fared very well over the years with five wins between 1956 and 1977, however in recent years they have struggled to crack the top ten. Their most iconic win is probably their 1977 entry from Marie Myriam ‘L’oiseau et l’enfant’, but they have also won the contest in 1958 (‘Dors, mon amour’ by André Claveau), 1960 (‘Tom Pillibi’ by Jacqueline Boyer), 1962 (‘Un premier amour’ by Isabelle Aubret) and in 1969 in a four way tie with ‘Un jour, un enfant’ by Frida Boccara.
