It’s the third week of Eurovision NI’s Song of 2019. This week’s tracks include new efforts from Belgium’s Laura Tesoro, global superstar Celine Dion, Australian Isaiah Firebrace, German Michael Schulte and Swedish pop powerhouse Benjamin Ingrosso. This week we kicked off our annual competition to find the top 40 songs from former Eurovision stars in 2019. The first set of 16 contenders were posted on Monday and you have been voting for your favourites. It’s now time to reveal the results and announce which five songs have made it through to the final 40.
We have started our quest to compile a list of the Top 40 songs released by Eurovision stars in 2019. Our first batch of sixteen songs include hits from previous winners Celine Dion (Switzerland, 1988), Lena (Germany, 2010) Eldar (Azerbaijan, 2011) and Conchita (Austria, 2014), as well as new tracks from the likes of Mahmood, Ilse Delange, Darude, Dami Im and Kate Miller Heidke. True to form the Dutch national broadcaster AVROTROS stuck to their internal selection process for Eurovision 2018. They announced today in their usual November slot that former Common Linnets vocalist Waylon will return to Eurovision in 2018 to represent the Netherlands.
Don’t you just love it when two Eurovision stars team up? Well, last week dutch singer and 2016 Eurovision representative for the Netherlands travelled to the hometown of Country music: Nashville, Tennessee. While there he met up with one half of the Common Linnets and 2014 Eurovision representative Ilse DeLange for her new television show ‘Ilse’s Veranda’.
