Iceland win #EurovisionWatchPartyNI Grand Final!

On Saturday night we were all supposed to be tuning in to the Grand Final of Eurovision 2020. However due to the Coronavirus, the show was cancelled. Eurovision NI wanted the party to continue so we hosted our very own Eurovision 2020 Watch Party. Two semi finals took place on Tuesday and Thursday and the ten qualifiers from each joined the Big Five and host nation the Netherlands in Saturday’s Grand Final. The Grand Final was won by Iceland’s Dadi Freyr and their song ‘Think About Things’. Read on for the full results including semi finals and the jury/televote split for the Grand Final.

Tonight Eurovision NI hosted the second of our Eurovision 2020 Watch Parties. Tonight saw the eighteen countries that were supposed to take part in Eurovision 2020’s Second Semi Final, fight it out for a spot in our Grand Final on Saturday. There were only ten spots available and the results were as follows:

Eurovision 2020 Semi Final Allocation Draw Takes Place!

Earlier today Tel Aviv officially handed over Eurovision hosting duties to Rotterdam. In an event that took place at Rotterdam’s City Hall, the host city insignia handover ceremony took place, but more importantly we now know which countries will compete in which of the semi finals when The Netherlands hosts the 2020 Contest later this year.

Duncan Laurence Wins Eurovision!

Duncan Laurence secured a fifth win for the Netherlands at this year’s Eurovision Song Contest, the nation’s first win in 44 years. Duncan’s song ‘Arcade’ topped the leaderboard at the end of Saturday night’s Grand Final which was held in Tel Aviv in Israel. He scored a total of 498 points, just 26 points ahead of second place Mahmood for Italy.
