1994 Eurovision winner Charlie McGettigan will play an ‘In the Round’ concert as part of the 2016 Belfast Nashville Songwriters’ Festival. Elina Born and Stig Rasta are chosen by Estonia, propelling them to the top of the betting odds.
Eesti Laul concluded tonight when Estonia selected Elina Born and Stig Rasta as their entry for Eurovision 2015. The winning song ‘Goodbye to Yesterday’ beat off stiff competition from nine other competitors including runners up Elisa Kolk’s ‘Superlove’ and Daniel Levi’s ‘Burning Lights’.
The duo were favourites to be chosen and so the result is no surprise, and bookies have selected Estonia’s song as one of the early favourites to win the contest overall. The folky ballad duet is not unlike last year’s entry ‘Calm After the Storm’ from the Netherlands which saw the Common Linnets finish second to Austria’s Conchita Wurst.
Estonia will compete in Semi Final 1 of the Eurovision on 19th May in Vienna. Listen to the winning song below and let us know if you think Estonia have made the right decision.
