As we enter 2017, Eurovision national finals are in full flow. To keep you up to date with all the Eurovision happenings, we have brought back our feature; ’15 Things We Learned This Week’ which we will continue to post every Sunday evening to recap the Eurovision news for the past week! So without further ado, here is the 15 things we learned this week…
For the past three nights, 24 hopefuls have been battling it out to be named the Albanian Eurovision entrant for 2017 in 55th edition of Festivali i Kenges (FiK55). Following the two semi finals, 14 acts made it through to tonight’s final and we can now reveal that the winning song was ‘Bote’ performed by Lindita Halimi.
The fourteen remaining acts will battle it out in tonight’s Festivali i Kenges (FiK55) in the bid to be named Albania’s 2017 Eurovision Act. Over the past two nights, the Albanian national selection show Festivali i Këngës (or FiK55) kicked off with its two semi final rounds. 24 acts competed over the two semi finals and we can now reveal the results of which acts made it through to tomorrow night’s final.
We are just two weeks away from the 55th edition of the Albanian Eurovision selection show Festivali i Kenges. Last month Albanian broadcaster RTSH revealed the 24 acts competing in the two semi finals and finals that will be contested just before Christmas. However today one of the acts, Edona Vatoci has been forced to withdraw from the contest.
The 24 songs that will compete in the Albanian national selection final in December have been announced by broadcaster RTSH. Festivali i Këngës (or FiK55) will be contested over two semi finals to be held on 21st and 22nd December with 14 songs qualifying to compete in the final on 23rd December.

This week you have been voting in the last of our weekly polls before the Eurovision Final which will take place on Saturday 14th May. On top of the last weekly poll of the year was Albania. Eneda Tarifa has topped the poll an incredible nine out of twelve times with her song ‘Fairytale’. This week she topped the poll with 52% of the vote while Bosnia Herzegovina finished in second for a third week in a row with Ireland’s Nicky Byrne in third with 18% for his song ‘Sunlight’. The top five was rounded up by UK’s Joe and Jake and France’s Amir. Read on for the full results.
Albania seem unbeatable having topped our weekly poll an amazing eight times. However, this week we will do it all over again and for the last time. If you want to see your favourite song on top, then make sure you vote for them in this week’s poll. The poll will close on Sunday 8th May.
It’s all becoming all too predictable in our weekly poll. On top, yet again, you’ve guessed it it’s Albania. Eneda Tarifa’s ‘Fairytale’ is coming true it would seem, having topped our poll for a pretty impressive eight times over the eleven weeks that we have run it so far. The song came out on top again this week with 78% of the overall vote. Bosnia/Herzegovina came in second again this week with 7% for ‘Ljubav je’, a collaboration between Dalal, Deen, Jala and Ana Rucner. In third was Russia’s Sergey Lazarev with ‘You Are the Only One’, while fourth and fifth place belonged to UK and France respectively.
