There has been a lot of activity the past few weeks in regards to Eurovision. Most countries have now revealed their artist and song, and if not their national selection shows are well under way and we should have the results later this week. One notable exception to this was Azerbaijan. The Lithuanian entry has two things I hate in a pop song. Firstly I despise a male and female duo. Secondly there is something about over the top cheesy, corny, loved up, flirty lyrics and staging that I just can’t stomach. It’s like something from a really bad amateur musical. The first rounds of the competition are over and we are one step closer to finding out which Eurovision Song is your favourite ever. We have whittled the field down from 32 to just 16 and now it is time for the first of our semi finals. Below are the songs in contention for advancing to the final. Lena’s ‘Satellite’ has topped our third heat in our quest to determine the best Eurovision song ever with 52.78% of the vote. Lena will progress to the Semi Finals along with Ell and Niki whose song ‘Running Scared’ came in second place with 22.22% of the vote, Eric Saade’s ‘Popular’ and Dima Bilan’s ‘Believe’ which finished third and fourth respectively with 11.11 and 8.33% of the vote.
