Samra Rahimli was announced as the Azeri Eurovision entry for 2016 earlier this week. Last night she unveiled the music video for her song ‘Miracle’. Read on to check it out!
There has been a lot of activity the past few weeks in regards to Eurovision. Most countries have now revealed their artist and song, and if not their national selection shows are well under way and we should have the results later this week. One notable exception to this was Azerbaijan. The Land of Fire has been all too quiet with their 2016 Eurovision plans, however they have revealed earlier today that their pick for Stockholm will be 21 year old singer Samra Rahimli.
The Lithuanian entry has two things I hate in a pop song. Firstly I despise a male and female duo. Secondly there is something about over the top cheesy, corny, loved up, flirty lyrics and staging that I just can’t stomach. It’s like something from a really bad amateur musical. However, despite all this, surprisingly, I don’t hate ‘This Time’. In fact this time I feeling love. Looooove. Lo-oh-uh-oh-ooove!
The first rounds of the competition are over and we are one step closer to finding out which Eurovision Song is your favourite ever. We have whittled the field down from 32 to just 16 and now it is time for the first of our semi finals. Below are the songs in contention for advancing to the final. Have a listen below and vote for your favourites in the poll. You can pick up to three songs. The results will be revealed on Sunday 8th March.
Lena’s ‘Satellite’ has topped our third heat in our quest to determine the best Eurovision song ever with 52.78% of the vote. Lena will progress to the Semi Finals along with Ell and Niki whose song ‘Running Scared’ came in second place with 22.22% of the vote, Eric Saade’s ‘Popular’ and Dima Bilan’s ‘Believe’ which finished third and fourth respectively with 11.11 and 8.33% of the vote.
