Eurovision 2016 Guide: Spain

 

Spain Eurovision 2016

Despite being one of the ‘Big 5’ and therefore automatically qualifying for the final each year, Spain have not won a Eurovision Song Contest since 1969. This was the second time they have won, having also won the contest the year before. The 1970s gave them three second place finishes, but more recently they haven’t fared so well. Since 2000 they have had six top ten finishes including the 2014 entry ‘Dancing In the Rain’ from Ruth Lorenzo. Despite being a firm fan favourite in 2015, Edurne’s ‘Amanecer’ only managed to finish 21st with 15 points. But what’s in store for 2016? Read on to find out!

Russia Still on Top of Our Eurovision 2015 Top 40 Poll (Week 4)

This week saw the results of our fourth Top 40 Poll and it was Russia’s Polina Gagarina who came out on top again for the third week in a row. Not much has changed in the Top 5 with Italy still in second place, Spain and Slovenia swapping places, now in third and fourth respectively and Maria Olafs from Iceland rounds up the top five, remaining in fifth.Read on to see the Top 40 in full. EdurneSpain’s Eurovision selection for 2015 is Edurne and her song ‘Amanecer’ is hotly tipped to do quite well, as one of the early favourites. Spain’s odds aren’t the only thing that’s hot, the singer is also pretty darn beautiful as well.
