After weeks of voting in our polls, you have crowned Conchita Wurst’s 2014 winning song ‘Rise Like a Phoenix’ as your favourite Eurovision song ever. She proved to be unstoppable as she won by quite a large margin with 82% of the vote (2077 votes) in the final round. In second place was Sweden’s Loreen with ‘Euphoria’ which despite a late surge in votes only managed 10% of the overall total. Alexander Rybak’s ‘Fairytale’ was in third with 7% and Common Linnets’ ‘Calm After the Storm’ and ABBA’s ‘Waterloo’ were fourth and fifth respectively, both with less than 1% of the vote.
It’s time for us to take a look at Estonia’s Eurovision offering; Tanja’s ‘Amazing’. Does it live up to it’s name? Is the song amazing? Not by a long shot. The song begins with a weird echoing sound and builds a little bit at the chorus but the shoeless singer’s vocals are at best off-key and at worst sound like someone is gargling mouthwash.
We’ve got into our Euro-time machine again and today it’s taken us to 2007 and to the runner up; Ukraine’s Verka Serduchka with Dancing Lasha Tumbai. Enjoy!
