Saara Aalto showcased her new album ‘Wild Wild Wonderland’ in Belfast’s Oh Yeah Centre tonight in an intimate show jam packed with hits.
Singer Saara Aalto, who finished second in the Finnish Eurovision selection show UMK last year, has progressed to the Boot Camp stage of X-Factor UK following her performance of Sia’s ‘Chandelier’ in Sunday night’s show.
We fell in love with The Voice of Belgium winner, Loic Nottet when we saw his covers of Sia’s songs ‘Chandelier‘ and ‘Elastic Heart‘ on Youtube. His fun and wacky sense of humour really comes put in these videos that seem to take a leaf of of Lady Gaga’s book. He swings from a chandelier, carries out ridiculous dance routines and hits notes that you wouldn’t think he’d be capable of.
It would seem that the Belgian singer Loic Nottet is an avid Sia fan. Last week we shared with you his rendition of the Australian singers hit song “Chandelier” accompanied with a freaky and bizarre video. This week the “Rhythm Inside” singer has covered another of Sia’s songs, choosing this time to take on “Elastic Heart”. Listen to the cover and let us know what you think.
1. Earlier in the week Maraaya’s official video for their Eurovision song ‘Here For You’ was released. Have a look at the video here.
2. This week Eurovision fans were saddened to hear of the death of former winner Jorgen Ingmann. The 89 year old singer won the contest back in 1963 with his song “Dansevise” (Dance Ballad) for Denmark.
Sia’s song ‘Chandelier’ has proven quite popular amongst our Eurovision contenders this year. Belgium’s Loic Nottet and Switzerland’s Melanie Renee both covered the songs. Nottet’s version of the song sees the Belgian recreate the Sia video with his own creepy yet hilarious twist. The ‘Rhythm Inside’ singer literally swings from a chandelier, dances with a man with a blackened face and in drag and carries out a perfectly choreographed dance routine.
Lithuania will hold their Eurovizijos final on Saturday 21st February. The national selection process is interesting in that they have already chosen their song, placing primary focus on this. While finding the right artist to perform the song is equally important, this has become a secondary focus. Last week Lithuania opted for song ‘This Time’ as their Eurovision pick and this weekend will see them choose between three singers Mia, Monika Linkyte and Vaidas Baumila. Ahead of the final we take a closer look at the participants.
