Melodifestivalen Announce Battles for Second Chance Show!

Melodifestivalen 2017 Eurovision NIFour weeks into the Swedish selection show and we now know the line up of the second chance show that will take place next week. This round will pit the acts that finished in third and fourth place over the last four weeks in a series of battles, the winner of each will advance to the final round along with the other eight finalists who qualified directly from their respective heats.

Melfest Semi 4: Results!

Sweden’s Melodifestivalen, which decides the nation’s Eurovision 2017 song, continued with the fourth and final semi final heat live from from Skellefteå this evening. Two acts made it directly to the final on 11th March while the songs in third and fourth place will compete again in the Second Chance show next weekend. Melfest 2017 Participants To Include Loreen, Charlotte Pirelli, Krista Siegfrids and Ace Wilder!

melodifestivalen sweden eurovision 2017Sweden’s Eurovision selection show Melodifestivalen is probably the most anticipated event of the Eurovision selection season. Earlier this month it was announced that the format would remain true to past years with 28 acts competing over four semi finals, a second chance show and a final over six consecutive weeks. This year the shows would start on 4th February, culminating in the grand final held on 11th March.

It was also announced that the shows would be presented by former Melfest competitor David Lindgren and Hasse Andersson alongside presenter Clara Henry. Since then there have been many rumours about which acts would be participating in the 2017 contest, and today these rumours have been put to bed with Swedish broadcaster SVT revealing the 28 acts.
