Romania has participated in the Eurovision Song Contest 17 times, debuting in the 1994 contest. Along with Russia and Greece, Romania has never missed a final since the introduction of the semi-finals in 2004. They have placed in the top ten on five occasions, including two third places which they received in 2005 with Luminița Anghel & Sistem and 2010 with Paula Seling & Ovi. Seling and Ovi returned to Eurovision in 2014 with ‘Miracle’ but couldn’t match their previous success, only placing 12th. Most recently band Voltaj came in 15th with ‘All Over Again’ in 2015.
The Romanian Eurovision pick for 2015 is MTV EMA award winners, Voltaj who formed in 1996 and have had more line up changes than Destiny’s Child and the Sugababes put together.
