Montenegrin broadcaster RTCG have confirmed that the nation will not compete in next year’s Eurovision Song Contest. The decision was confirmed following whispers on a number of Eurovision fan blogs that this may be the case.

What can we say about Montenegro’s track record at Eurovision? Hmm, it’s not great. Their first five attempts 2007-2013 all failed in progressing to the final. Things have got slightly better recently with Sergej Ćetković finishing 19th with ‘Moj Svijet’ in 2014 and last year, despite looking alike a creepy uncle at a wedding, Knez pulled off the best Montenegrin result ever with ‘Adio’ coming in in 13th place.

Montenegro and Macedonia’s Votes Disqualified

knezIt has been announced that the votes from both Montenegro and Macedonia have been disqualified after a voting irregularity from both countries in the 2015 Eurovision Song Contest. It has been revealed that both nations used a 100% televote to decide the results they awarded in Saturday’s show. This is strictly against the rules of the contest which says that the results must be made up of 50% vote from an expert jury and 50% from televote.
