Eurovision NI Awards 2017: Nominees The Good (Part 2)!

The Eurovision NI Awards are back in 2017 for the second ever awards show! They will take place in Belfast on 21st October 2017 from 8pm. Awards will be handed out in 19 categories decided for the most part by a panel of experts. Over the next five weeks we will be unveiling which acts have been nominated in each of the categories. Last week we announced the nominees for Best Male, Best Female, Best Duo/Group/Collaboration, Best Returning Artist and the one that you will decide: The People’s Choice Award. This week we turn our attention to Best Song, Best New Song, Best Song From Selection Shows and Best Song Not In The English Language. Read on to find out the lucky nominees!

Australia to Compete at Eurovision 2018!

Eurovision Australia 2018The ground breaking announcement earlier this week that 2018 would see the launch of Eurovision Asia, had many supposing that this could put an end to Australia competing in Eurovision. Today however, Australian broadcaster SBS revealed that the EBU had extended an invite to Australia to compete in Lisbon at Eurovision 2018. This invitation has been accepted. Continue reading

Eurovision AsiaAn exciting development has been announced this week regarding the future of Eurovision. Eurovision is breaking out of Europe and taking over the Asia-Pacific region as well with a new contest that will take place in 2018. The Contest is called Eurovision Asia and nations including India, Japan, China, New Zealand, Australia, Indonesia, South Korea and the Philippines are all eligible to compete.  Continue reading

The inaugural Eurovision NI Awards in 2016 allowed the blog readers to decide the winners of each category in a series of polls. This year, we’ve changed the rules, with the Blog writers deciding the winners for the main categories. We do however still value the readers’ opinions and want them to have their say. As such we have created a new award for 2017 called the People’s Choice Award, which will be solely decided by you the reader. All the Eurovision Acts from 2017 are eligible!
