Victoria Georgieva will represent Bulgaria at Eurovision 2020!

Bulgaria are back at Eurovision after a year’s absence in 2019. They have wasted no time and become the third country to reveal their artist for the 2020 Contest. Earlier this morning the broadcaster BNT made the announcement that Victoria Georgieva will represent them in Rotterdam.

Victoria started singing at age of eleven and was enrolled in vocal studio ‘Angel Voices’ where her music teacher was Atanaska Lipcheva. Victoria went on to audition for the first 3 seasons of ‘X Factor’ Bulgaria, but she never made it past the first audition, as the judges believed her too young to advance.

In 2015, on her fourth attempt she did make it through to the live shows of ‘X-Factor’ Bulgaria and was eliminated in Week 9, missing out on the final. Following her appearance on ‘X-Factor’, Victoria released the singles ‘Nishto Sluchayno’ (ft. Niki Bakalov and VenZy) and ‘Nezavarshen roman’.

Her latest single, ‘I Wanna Know’, gained hundreds of thousands of streams across YouTube and Spotify over the summer and a debut solo album is expected to be released in 2020.

Victoria commented on being chosen for Eurovision, saying:

‘I am proud to be the Bulgarian artist in Rotterdam. I am privileged to be able to make music that I believe in and to have the freedom to be who I am. Being the Bulgarian ambassador on such a huge stage is a big responsibility’.

Victoria’s distinctive voice and style position her as one of the most promising new music artists from Bulgaria. The Bulgarian entry will be selected internally and will be presented in early March.
