Australia have begun their search for their Eurovision artist for 2020. Following the success of last year’s first ever selection show, the Aussies have brought back Australia Decides and today broadcaster SBS announced the first two of ten acts that will take part in February’s live show in Australia’s Gold Coast.
First up is Vanessa Amorosi, a singer best known for her 1999 hit song ‘Absolutely Everybody’. Amorossi has had moderate success in Australia with five albums including her debut album ‘The Power’ which peaked at number one and her most recent effort ‘Back to Love’ which is due for release tomorrow.
The second act to be announced is stage star Casey Donovan. Donovan won the second season of Australian Idol where she actually covered Vanessa Amorosi’s song ‘Take Me As I Am’ in the final. More recently Donovan has taken on the role of Mama Morton in Australian production of Chicago.
The rest of the acts to take part in Australia Decides 2020 will be revealed in the coming weeks.
