Australia Decides to Return in 2020!

Eurovision 2020, News

In 2019 Australia used a national final to select their act and song for Eurovision. This was the first time the nation chose to do so since they started competing in 2015. The show was called Australia Decides and proved to be a huge success, selecting Kate Miller Heidke’s ‘Zero Gravity’ as its representative. Australian broadcaster SBS announced that the selection show is set to make a return in 2020.

As with the 2019 competition, 2020 will play out in the Gold Coast Convention and Exhibition Centre. This will consist of a Preview Show on 7 February with the live Grand Final taking place the following evening on 8 February. The hosts from 2019 Joel Creasey and Myf Warhurst are also set to return as this year’s presenters.

Applications for submissions are now open. Last year saw ten acts compete, but the Australian delegation have expressed a desire to make Australia Decides bigger than last year, so could well see the field of entries expanded on.
