Conan Osiris has been awarded the Barbara Dex Award in 2019. The award (named for the Belgian singer who represented her nation in a self-made, semi-transparent dress in 1993) is a fan voted award given out annually for the worst dressed Eurovision contestant.This year the award went to Conan Osiris who represented Portugal with the song ‘Telemoveis’. The artist wore an emerald green trouser gown with a golden chin mask. He may have missed out on a place in the Grand Final but he gained most of the 4,000 vote cast by fans on the Belgian fansite Eurovision.be to win the Barbara Dex Award.
Other artists who finished in the top 5 of the Worst Dressed vote included Cyprus’ Tamta who came second, ZENA from Belarus in third, Belgium’s own act Eliot in fourth and Macedonian singer Tamara Todevska rounded out the top 5.
This is Portugal’s second time winning the award in its 22 year history, last winning it back in 2006 for band Nonstop.
