Five songs took part in Iceland’s first semi final of Söngvakeppnin 2019, the show that decides the nation’s Eurovision artist and song. Only two songs could make it to the grand final though and these spots went to ‘Hatrid mun sigra’ by Hatari and ‘Eitt Andartak’ by Hera Björk. The other three songs were eliminated.

These two songs will be joined by the other two qualifiers from the second semi final next week which consists of Elli Grill, Skaði and Glymur, Ívar Daníels, Heiðrún Anna Björnsdóttir, Tara Mobee and Friðrik Ómar
