Despite an announcement expected last week, all was quiet from camp Greece. A few days later however and the broadcaster ERT have announced that Katerine Duska will sing for them at Eurovision 2019.
Greece did away with their selection show for 2019, as it proved a bit of a struggle last year with a number of disqualifications, withdrawals which inevitably meant only one viable artist was left: Yianna Terzi. Instead Greece opted for an internal selection process this year and yesterday they announced the results of their efforts. Katerine Duska will sing ‘a contemporary European ballad’ for the nation in Tel Aviv in May.
Katerine is a Canadian Greek singer who released her debut album ‘Embodiment’ in 2016. Her previously released tracks include the songs ‘One in a Million’ and ‘Slow’.
Do you think Greece have made the correct choice?
