This evening Estonia launched their bid to win the Eurovision Song Contest 2019 when they held the first of two semi finals for their selection show Eesti Laul.
Only six of the twelve competing entries could secure a place in the final. After all the acts had performed, the jury and public votes were combined and the first four acts who qualified for the next round were announced. These were:
The Swingers– ‘High Heels in the Neighbourhood‘
Stefan– ‘Without You‘
Victor Crone– ‘Storm‘
Inger– ‘Coming Home‘
After this the top two songs in the public vote from the remaining eight acts also made it through to the final. These were:
xtra basic & Emily J- ‘Hold Me Close’
Sandra Nurmsalu- ‘Soovide puu’
The other six acts have been eliminated from the competition:
Jennifer Cohen- ‘Little Baby El’
Johanna Eendra- ‘Miks sa teed nii?’
Marko Kaar- ‘Smile’
Sofia Rubina-Hunter- ‘Deep Water’
Eesti Laul continues on Saturday night when 12 more songs will compete for the remaining six spaces in the final to be held on 16 February.
